CALL FOR PAPERS: Women, Equalities and Shifting Political Landscapes

The 2019 POWES conference will showcase feminist scholarship in a collegiate and friendly environment, and warmly welcomes anyone interested in research on gender and sexuality related topics, at any stage of their career.

We are pleased to announce that our conference theme for 2019 is ‘Women, Equalities and Shifting Political Landscapes’. As always, we look forward to a diverse range of submissions from all areas of experience and practice including (but not limited to) the following topics:

theorising feminisms; femininities; masculinities; non-binary gender; gender identities; parenting; gender violence and sexual exploitation; sexualities; mental health; health; sport; education; work; qualitative/critical methodologies; social justice; activism; race; disability; class; intersectionality.

Details on how to submit an abstract for a paper, workshop, symposium or poster and to register for the conference will be released soon. Submissions deadline April 2nd 2019, notification of outcomes April 23rd 2019, Draft conference programme released May 2019.

The POWES conference always provides an excellent opportunity for feminist researchers, teachers and practitioners in and around psychology to meet and exchange ideas, as well as for students to present their work for the first time in a supportive and nurturing environment. We also award two student prizes along with Feminism & Psychology—an undergraduate prize and a postgraduate prize. More information on prize submissions is available here.
